Multifix Air

Background

Since a lot of energy is lost from air leakage when electricity is installed, Schneider Electric developed Multifix Air, which is an extremely smart new range of energy saving installation boxes for flush mounting.

Challenge

At Leon we considered the fact that electricians already have a wide range of installation boxes to choose from and that installation boxes generally aren’t at the top of the agenda when it comes to detecting energy thieves. Therefore we decided to highlight the problem (leakage of warm or cool air caused by installation boxes) and the solution (to get evidence on how much air leakage decreased when Multifix Air were used, compared to other installation boxes).

Solution

After contacting the R&D-people at Schneider Electric they constructed a machine where Multifix Air and other installation boxes were thoroughly tested. The result showed a magnificent 95% reduction of air leakage for Multifix Air compared to regular installation boxes. So highlighting the problem and Multifix Air as its solution was our strategy. “Setting a new standard in energy efficiency” became our creative concept, and “Stop wasting energy while installing it!” was our message.
