Scania Driver Competitions
Scania Driver Competitions is the world's largest competition
for heavy vehicles and attracts up to 55,000 participants from
close to 40 countries. LEON was assigned to to create a global
online platform that will be the communicative hub for the
competitions during 2012. The solution was a scalable module
presented in Scania's own channels, as well as on external websites
and in social media.
The driver competitions aim to inspire to increased fuel
efficiency, an increased awareness of traffic safety and to reduce
the vehicles' environmental effects. The competitions include
several steps, such as theory test, fuel-efficient driving, and
maneuvering tests.
To communicate the competition, offer an intuitive registration
process and not least promote the high engagement from the
competitions worldwide, we created an innovative modular solution
that can be published on all types of websites.The solution, based
on EpiServer, contains both registration process, editorial content
and relations with external information sources. The
module is being continuously updated, both by a central Scania
editorial team and by each market.
Besides the online platform, we were also responsible for creating
a global launch movie along with a trailer that
highlights the core values of the competition and encourages the
audience to register and follow the event. The
trailer was produced in both a long and a short version
(customized for TV ads).
